Background

Ben Jacobs has always had a keen interest in the vigorous debate of ideas, and has translated that interest into a successful career at the Bar, practicing primarily in Building and Construction, and Commercial Law.

However, it was by no means a direct career trajectory. Ben began his working life in some of Sydney’s best kitchens, before putting down the chef’s knife to study Arts/Law, next gaining graduate entry into Mallesons, before working as an Associate to Justice Branson of the Federal Court. His depth and range of real-world experience contributes enormously to his ability to work with solicitors and clients alike, and to understand the multiple factors that lead them to the point of approaching counsel for assistance.

Ben consistently builds strong relationships with solicitors in order to have open and informed discussions about each particular case. He is also committed to viewing issues and disputes from the client’s perspective, identifying their desired result, and communicating a realistic understanding of the potential outcomes. In short, he knows the vital importance of remaining sensitive to the client’s needs while imparting practical legal advice.

Ben is unfailingly professional, with great experience of the litigation and dispute resolution process. His ability and common sense allow him to achieve the best possible outcomes for his solicitors and their clients.
