Ajay specialises in commercial law and building and construction (including Home Building Act 1989 (NSW), Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020 (NSW), Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 1999 (NSW)). Ajay also has expertise in work health and safety and sports law.

Before the Bar, Ajay was a solicitor at Ashurst and Tipstaff to Justice Robb at the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
Ajay holds a Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws, all from the University of Sydney. Whilst there, Ajay was a Student Editor of the Sydney Law Review and received several prizes and awards, including the Ivan Roberts Scholarship, New Colombo Plan Scholarship, Eric Cunstance Shaw Scholarship, Pitt Cobbett Scholarship, Walter Reid Memorial Prize for Law (twice), and Dean’s List of Excellence for Academic Performance in Law.
